On these excellent pieces of antique Chinese porcelain is truly stunning. A beautiful pair of copper red glazed hard paste porcelain vases.Hand blown glazed with a deep mysterious "jun" red that is a rich, vitreous, uniform crimson, flaring out to subtle streaks of whitish blue near the mushroom colored mouth rim, and displaying a fine craquelure throughout. Very dense hard white porcelain.
The vases are well-potted in a baluster "guanyin zun" shape with pleasing proportions. An Antiques Dealer in New York on 5th Ave.Condition: In excellent antique condition, with no noticeable hairlines and no repairs. In a few places, characteristic of Qing copper red vases, the foot-rim and glaze are uneven in a few places at the bottom (considered a mark of authenticity, and not really a condition issue; described here for accuracy). Overall, the potters achieved great control of the copper-red glaze blown on the surface of this pair. Additional photos available upon request.
